Program Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management Leadership (GC-NPML) mission-driven professionals to excel in management, strategy, finances, and fundraising. The GC-NPML is a 12-credit graduate program that can be completed in as few as nine months of continuous study while minimally disrupting personal and professional life. The program equips students to formulate innovative strategies, negotiate the complexities of nonprofit management, develop entrepreneurial skills, generate more resources, effectively manage finances, and employ their talents to make a significant difference for a nonprofit organization and the community it serves. Through this program, the skills that students acquire translate to strong professional preparedness and a deeper understanding of what it takes to excel in the nonprofit sector.
The GC-NPML offers an in-person learning option that features traditional, seminar-style, instruction. Classes meet in UMD College Park campus classrooms, offering a focused, distraction-free learning environment. Instruction is provided by university faculty and experts in the field. The program uses the semester academic calendar with classes held during fall and spring semester (16 weeks each).
