Program Overview

IN PERSON

The Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Persian integrates advanced language study with the exploration of Persian culture, history, literature, politics, and society. Students develop not only the ability to communicate fluently at a professional level but also the cultural literacy necessary to engage meaningfully across diverse global contexts.

The MPS in Persian is offered through the School of Languages, Literatures, & Culture in the College of Arts and Humanities. Designed for working professionals, students can earn a University of Maryland graduate degree while continuing to work full-time with minimal disruption to personal and professional life. Students with specific academic questions should contact Dr. Nehal Akbari at persian@umd.edu.
