The Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Finance and Acquisition (GC-PSFA) is designed to meet the ever-increasing demand for qualified acquisitions experts to support and supervise the varied and complex purchases carried out by federal, state, and local governments. Professionals acquire an understanding of the principles and practices of public sector finance and acquisition, taking the next step in their careers. Students learn how to apply the tools and techniques related to leadership and management to address specific issues related to the procurement of goods and services for public organizations. The GC-PSFA is a 12-credit graduate program that can be completed in as few as nine months of continuous study while minimally disrupting personal and professional life.

The GC-PSFA offers a 100% online option that uses UMD’s online learning environment to deliver content through easy-to-use web-based technology that supports engaging and interactive learning. Instruction is provided by university faculty and experts in the field. The program uses the semester academic calendar with classes held during fall and spring semester (16 weeks each).
