Program Overview
The Post-Baccalaureate Program in Fire Protection Engineering is an online, non-degree program for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to build focused undergraduate-level preparation in fire protection engineering. The program is deisgned designed for professionals moving into fire protection responsibilities, students preparing for graduate study, and engineers seeking targeted coursework in this specialized field.
Students may use the program to strengthen core knowledge in fire protection system design and quantitative methods for performance-based design. With individualized advising, flexible course selection, and instruction by University of Maryland faculty and field experts, students can complete the courses that best support their academic, professional, or graduate school goals.

- Online delivery: Courses are offered online, with mostly asynchronous instruction designed for working professionals and students outside of the College Park area.
