Payment Deadlines
Payment deadlines are determined by the date of a student's admission. Failure to comply by the posted deadlines will result in program cancellation and loss of course seat.

Payment Options

- International Payments
- Third-Party/Sponsored Billing: This is when a private or government agency is paying any portion of a student’s tuition or fees and are requesting a bill from the University.
- Tuition Remission: The University of Maryland System Tuition Remission benefit may be used to cover program course tuition. The benefit does not cover student services fees, program fees (commuter or online), or course-related fees. University of Maryland System employees receive authorization from their home institution. Dependents of University System employees must use their student’s SSN on the program application as the system only recognize dependents through the SSN. - Note: The Terp Payment Plan cannot be used for Terp Young Scholars.
Deadlines, definitions, and concomitant consequences associated with requests for program cancellation, course cancellation, and withdrawal appear below. All requests must be received in writing by posted deadlines. Use the EXST contact form. Include student’s full name, UID, and a complete statement regarding the requested action.

Program Cancellation Means
Cancellation of program participation on or before June 20.
- Course registration will be canceled and will not appear on the student record.
- Commuter or online program registration will be canceled.
- Receive a 100% refund for course tuition, campus services fee, program fee (commuter/online), and course fee (if any).
Course Cancellation Means
Cancellation of program participation between June 21 and TBD (prior to the official first day of classes).
- Course registration will be canceled and will not appear on the student record.
- Receive a 100% refund only for course tuition, campus services fee, and course fee (if any).
- No refund of the program fee.
Withdrawal on Official First Day of Classes Means
Termination of program participation on the official first day of classes.
- Course registration information remains on the student record with a notation of withdrawn. Neither grade nor credits attempted will appear on transcript.
- Receive an 80% refund only for course tuition, campus services fee, and course fee (if any).
- No refund of the program fee.
Withdrawal Means
Termination of program participation between the second day of classes and by the last day of classes.
- Course registration information remains on the student record with a notation of withdrawn. Neither grade nor credits attempted will appear on transcript.
- No refund is available.
Refunds
Refunds post to the student financial record as a credit. To obtain this credit/refund, submit a formal request. See Student Financial Services-Refunds Overview-Other Refunds.
