EdTerps Learning Academy - Special Education and School Counseling Programs

The EdTerps Learning Academy’s Special Education and School Counseling Programs upport the professional learning needs of general education teachers in inclusive classrooms, school and community professionals in special education support services, and professional school counselors. Through flexible and part-time learning options that feature in-person, online, and blended instruction, our programs support learners in building and using evidence-based practices to expand their skills and knowledge.

Special Education and School Counseling Programs are designed to advance the knowledge and careers of working professionals in better serving the needs of students. The programs culminate in graduate degrees from the University of Maryland’s College of Education, including Ed.D., M.Ed., and graduate certificates.

M.Ed. Programs

Ed.D. in Special Education Leadership, Shady Grove

Develops special education leadership for a select cohort of scholars, including special education teachers, related service professionals, principals, and special education administrators.

Prepares leaders for special education services in the Department of Defense Dependent School System, in Germany. In-person classes are held near Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany.

Designed to address the developmental and learning needs of our youngest ages, birth to five years old, including those with physical, sensory (e.g., deaf-blindness, cortical visual impairment, etc.), and multiple disabilities.
