Program Overview
Knowledge in data science and survey methodology is increasingly important in our data driven world. As increasing numbers of public and private organizations produce and use data for decision making, there is a concomitant need for trained professionals who have specific technical skills and a broad knowledge of social data science concepts and tools. Good data collection has a scientific base and, if applied correctly, will lead to better results—in public opinion, social science research, public policy, and overall decision making.
Joint Programs in Survey Methodology, Online features 100% online instruction, developing and training professionals interested in broadening their knowledge and understanding in survey and data science, survey methodology, and survey statistics. Designed for working professionals, students can earn a University of Maryland degree while continuing to work full-time with minimal disruption to personal and professional life. Full-time or part-time study is welcomed.
